imessage not working with latest update in elcappitan
Why can I no longer send iMessages on my iMac since upgrading to the latest version of El Capitan?

Hey lahugus,
I use iMessage every day and if it stopped working for me suddenly I would not be happy.
I would first double check the messages preferences and verify iMessage is turned on and you are logged in with the correct Apple ID.
If that is correct turn the computer off then back on and test again.
If that does not work sign out of iMessage then back into it.
These steps should resolve your issue.
